Ticking noise at idle only not lifters
Ok so Im experiencing some ticking noise only at idle you can hear it. It all started after I blew my freeze plugs out when I launched my car at the drag strip with my 2 step. I got all that fixed and fire the car back up and its been ticking ever since. I since then have been around 500 miles in the car beat the hell out of it and still performs the same as before no power loss at all. Ive checked everything under the valve cover and everything was fine. Checked the oil and it was clean as could be. The only thing I can think of is its the timing belt tensioner. I did find that my cam gears were loose on the adjustment screws so we tightened them back up and it still ticks. Does anybody have anymore ideas on what this could be? Any help would be greatly appreciated

My engine was ticking untill I ran some Gunk fuel injector cleaner through it. The noise was there from idle up to about 4K rpm. After that engine noise drowned it out I guess. Give this a try, if it doesn't work you are out five bux.

I've heard that one bad tank of E-85 can gunk up the injectors. Otherwise, if on gas, since you've done that, never mind. If on E-85 I'd suggest pulling and checking.

Ok I'll try the screwdriver method and see if I can get an exact aspect of where but I'm thinking it either the injectors or lifters just from listening to videos. I know I just had the injectors cleaned but I'm sure there was gunk in the fuel tank and lines too so they could be partially stopped up again so ima get some injector cleaner and run through it and see if that helps
