Read the manual. There is a place under the hood to connect jumper cables

Theres a key that you start the car with, Take the key and put it in the hole in your door handle Yes when your battery is dead it will not unlock the doors with the key less entry. GL

you can open the doors with just the key blank....... to actually start the car, you pull the black knob off the ignition switch, insert the key blank with the fob attached to the blank backwards
but it may be your blank is not the correct blank for the vehicle

Ok wow, some people on here really think I am stupid or something. Yes i know that you can jump the car from under the hood and yes i know the battery is in the trunk. Yes i also know that the key in the fob will work in the ignition just like a key should, all you got to do is take the black thing off. So now that everyone knows that i am not a retard. Lets try and find some real answers here so as to unlock the car when the battery is completely dead. Also i know the key is the right one bc i have opened the doors with it and started the car also. Thanks guys, Im really thinking Mitsu jsut dropped the ball on this one bad.

It sounds like the driver door keyhole is just a purely electronic switch, with no mechanical link between the key hole and the door lock mechanism. So if the battery is dead, there would be no way to open it? Wow, this sucks...

well i just went downstairs, locked the car with the fastkey, unlocked the door with just the key. didn't sound like anything electrical happened, just a good ole mechanical door lock. i turned it right if that helps. i doubt mitsubishi would set up a car so that it would need battery to use the physical key to open the door. gl

My friend and I were able to get into his X with the key when the battery was disconnected...not sure what the problem is? Worked just like any other old mechanical lock.

+1 on this one, kind of confused what you are asking for here.

I don't think it's mitsu's fault, maybe it's your key or something.

The trunk w/o the keyless option does not have a key hole.

Maybe the fob is programmed for your car but it's the wrong key? It should work. I've opened my car both with a COMPLETELY dead battery and with the battery disconnected without issue multiple times.

I really think this isn't even a problem...any update OP? Seems like a user error thing going on here, imo.
