How long did your stock clutch last after it started slipping?
So my Stock clutch started slipping yesterday...
I was wondering how long it might last if I try not to push it too hard and baby it a little.
I have a stock 03 and it's my daily driver.

Not long after it started slipping. Baby it. I miss read this the first time around, but I started getting strange things (surging at low RPM) but it got worse fast. start your budget now and get a new one quick.

Dont you think you should open this window up a bit. for christs sake i ran 35K with many drag nights in the 12 second marks. this is almost hard to believe the window is so small.
and thinking more, I jsut rolled 52 k total on the odometer, and new clutch is as good as new, but this one should last a lot longer Exedy double HD.

No No Like I said I miss read your original post, thats why I edited it. My bad. Good thing I looked twice sorry for the confusion. it didnt last too long after it started, and I drove i t for about 28-30K before it started. I drive 40K/year so factor that in. My 05 I had lasted 40K w/o slipping but the IX does make a touch more power though too.

again I hope you read your PM. I missed a few words in your post. I change oil atleast every 3 weeks cause I do daily drive my car over 40K/year. so it stated slipping and within 4-5k I had to dump it it stunk too. I did beat it pretty hard though.

Wow every 3 weeks? So you spend about $1000 on oil changes each ear!!!
I'm basically trying to get and idea on how long before I absolutely need to change the clutch...

Mine slipped for about 20 miles before it was so bad I could barely move forward- that was following cams/DP/O2/Ported ex. mani/reflash.... too much power for a clutch that had just started slipping and it went down hill fast!!! Replaced with Exedy twin

My clutch could not hold the car on a hill, this occured the same day I purchased the car - brand new, with 6 miles on it. I'm pretty sure the stock EVO clutch is designed to slip straight from the factory (in an effort to protect the drivetrain from inexperienced driver inputs). Got a WORKS stg. II clutch, and couldn't be happier.

When my stocker started slipping I was able to get about 800 more miles out of it really babying the car. Never went over 3200rpm, stayed off the highways. Happened a few days after my e85 switch, it was torture not being able to romp on her. On the other hand I was getting like 28mpg lol

Mines lasted me a few thousand miles before it completely went out. Started slipping at around 46k miles and clutch gave out completely at 50k. When it started slipping, I did not boost it at all. I was just driving it to work and home.
