Evo IX Launch Control - not working

I purchased this car back in 2016. Since then, the launch control feature has never worked on it. Mind you, I have a 1995 Mitsubishi GSX and I am well aware of how launch control works and how to get it to activate. I use it all the time at the drag strip with it.

Things I have tried:
  • Ensure the clutch switch is plugged in ( Clutch safety switch is unplugged as I do not like starting the car with clutch in. But I tried both. Plugged in and unplugged does not make a difference)
  • Tried switching launch control RPM in ECU-Flash. Made sure it was active (but maybe something is wrong?)

Does the car nee to be WOT in order for it to active? On my DSM, it works at any throttle %. I also read somewhere that it has to be in gear. My DSM also does this freely in any gear or neutral. Though I've tried all these things as well and no dice. I think I tried WOT once on a completely level ground, 0MPH, e-brake up, everything I could find that suggested on how to get it to active it. The result was shooting to redline.

The car does have TephraMod V7 I believe in it. Car has once been tuned by TSComptuned and now currently tuned by Performance Destination. Both tuners stated that launch control should be working. In actuality, it does not. So I am a bit puzzled.

After further researching, I seem to be having the same exact issue as the OP in this thread ( https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...l-problem.html ). But there was never a resolution posted. I can't be the only one having this issue. I'd love to figure this out as I'd like for the launch control to work. Possibly 2-step/anti lag as well?

I went to the Shootout last year, and I seemed to be the only Evo without launch control assist lol. Really want to get this feature working again.

Thanks in advanced.

Does no lift to shift work? If not, your top clutch switch may be bad.

I have no idea if it works or not. Not really comfortable trying it out while I have this issue.

I did some more research, and I did find a few threads specifically stating that the TephraMod has caused launch control to not work.

Found two related threads:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ec...want-work.html
and
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ec...-not-work.html

only issue is I'm not exactly sure how to modify the XML file.

So I think I may have found my issue(s)
  1. Top clutch switch is disconnected
  2. Upon trying to reconnect my upper clutch switch, I noticed my clutch pedal assembly has cracked
When the clutch comes down, it doesn't go anywhere near the clutch switch to make contact. So I'll need to fix the clutch pedal assembly first before moving on. I am 99% sure this is my issue.

Figured I'd give an update as the issue is 100% resolved.

Root Cause:
Upper Switch was not plugged in. Furthermore, the Clutch Pedal Assembly was cracked. When the clutch pedal was pressed, it would not make contact with the Switch. I had a shop straighten out the pedal assembly and welded the crack. As well as the firewall. Good as new.

Random Key Notes: (For launch control)
Unlike a DSM, you must have the clutch all the way to the floor in order for the launch control to activate (the Switch basically needs to be pushed). You must be completely still (0MPH) with no rolling movement at all, and on a flat surface.
